PSI 304 - Jeff's 1995 Holden VS Commodore ute.

Certainly no horsepower hero by today’s standard, but this ex-workhorse is definitely no slouch.

This stock internal 304ci Holden V8 is force fed by the Eaton M112 supercharger which takes pride of place perched in the valley of the engine to the tune of 11psi. She’s backed by a T5, 5-speed manual transmission, and a Borgwarner 28-splne LSD with 3.91:1 diff gears.

Won’t be setting any records or breaking the internet anytime soon, but there are plans to rework this outdated combo at a later date. With all that said, its really hard to beat the soundtrack it produces!
You can see more of it here:

The Turbo Tonner - Rob's 2002 Holden VY One Tonner

This car really is something else. How often do you see a properly neat late model one tonner these days? And with it’s SS styling, tough wheels, and Rob’s custom tray, this one certainly does stand out in a crowd.

Originally a 5.7L with 4L60e car, Rob had already been tinkering with this one having fitted a cammed, low km, C4B Calloway donk, and T56 manual transmission giving it a respectable 420rwhp… but that simply wasnt quite enough. Rob had always wanted a 500rwhp street car. So with that we replaced the decked heads in favour of stock items, fitted stage 2 turbo cam, upgraded the fuel system, and fitted an ASE T800 turbo kit with Garrett GT4088 turbo.

It was 500rwhp you wanted, right Rob? Well, sorry bud… on the dyno this BEAST punched out 625hp @ 13psi on pump 98 unleaded. Not bad, hey?
Here is the first video in our 6-part build series:

Barrage - Cam's BF FPV F6 Typhoon R-Spec

Now this is a build we certainly can’t take too much credit for, but we’re stoked to have been a part of.

Cam has been building this VERY stout F6 R-Spec for a while. It’s got a transbraked powerglide transmission and made ~750rwhp on a stock Barra engine. But now it’s gone next level with a Monsta Torque build donk, and came in for some custom intercooler piping and catch can. Nothing but the best used here with JNT mandrel bends, Turbosmart blow off valve, and Plazmaclamps to ensure there’s no risk of a boost leak on the quest to hopefully cracking 1000hp!

This one still isnt quite finished, but is very close to being ready for the dyno.
In the meantime, you can take a closer look at it here:

The Super Camry - Matt's Toyota JZX100 Chaser

We’re pretty comfortable in saying that this isn’t something you see everyday…

Matt is a Diesel Mechanic, who works on large compound turbo Caterpillar powered earthmoving equipment. So it begs the question – Why would Matt want to have a compound turbo 1JZ-GTE powered JZX100 Toyota Chaser?!? Well the answer is, in the name of being different.

Kurt fabricated this turbo kit from a blank sheet of paper. Fair to assume that packaging was a major hurdle in this project, and it was. fitting those 2 BorgWarner turbo’s in that engine bay without cutting the car was a struggle, but the proof is here in the pudding… and it works!

Matt has built a really tough 1JZ filled with goodies from Real Street performance, Goleby’s Parts, and Platinum Racing Products. Backed by a transbraked TH400 and running on MoTeC engine management, this thing is going to be a wonder to behold when it’s ready for the dyno in the near future.

Radial Runabout - Liam's 1992 Holden VP ute.

When Holden had these first roll off the production line, it’s pretty clear that this wasn’t what they had in mind…

It was pretty clear right from the jump that this was going to take alot of effort to get right, and meant jumping well out of our comfort zone aswell. This big girl has a 6.0L LS2, and a rather large 80mm BorgWarner turbo propped up by a Killaboost manifold kit, and it was our task to make it fit. Alot of sheet metal work in the engine bay was needed, a new radiator support structure to house the PWR radiator, and there was also the task of plumbing the intercooler of which we turned to Turbosmart and Plazmaman for the right gear for the job. We also mounted the fuel cell, Astra power steering pump, and battery tray.
This series was well received, if you havent seen it yet, why not?:

XY Prince - Michael's 1971 Ford XY Falcon

By far one of the more ambitious undertakings we have ever taken on. This immaculately restored XY Falcon GT-HO Tribute car came to us as a rolling shell. No engine, box, tailshaft, fuel tank, ignition system… nothin. But it rolled out as a 750+hp animal!

Michael has had this car for over 12 years, and it previously had a 393ci 2V Cleveland (which he built himself) backed by a reconditioned C4 trans. At just shy of 300rwhp the old girl was able to get out of her own way, but as often happens, the bug had well and truly bitten and he was thirsty for more.

There was no stone left unturned on this lengthy and trying build. We fitted an AN Racing built 411ci Windsor V8 with F1R Procharger, and Australind Automatics built TH400 gearbox. to Breathe it uses custom 2″ Primary 4-into-1 extractors to a stainless twin 3″ exhaust. Again, Australian manufacturing by way of JNT, Turbosmart, and Plazmaman were employed with keeping the boost on the right track. MSD takes care of the spark, while a custom blow thru Quickfuel carb meters the fuel delivery.  It was up to Wayne at Performance Carb Tuning to get the best out of her, and while it wasn’t without it’s troubles, it certainly let us know by the end that she means business!

The Bunky BT1 - Kurt's 1993 Holden VR BT1

From bouncing around the back seat as a little tacker, to taking the keys as his first car, to becoming a seemingly never ending project. But there is a light at the end of the tunnel, and it’s coming!

This car really has been in his family since he was just a young bloke, and is something that he will honestly never part with. Has been a long road of DIY and working on it in between projects before this final push to hold other work at arm’s length until it finally breathes back into life after well over 10 years off the road. With the engine bay now smoothed means the car can push on towards reassembly.

The combo will initially comprise of a stock bottom end Holden 304ci V8, with upgraded cam and valve springs, and Kurt’s own turbo kit with a Garrett GTX4294r turbo which will push air through a very rare and prestigious genuine VN Group A twin throttle body intake manifold. That will be backed by a TH400 transmission, and Borgwarner diff fitted with a Harrop truetrac centre and 3.27:1 diff gears. In this guise we’d be happy to see roughly 420rwhp, although it wont stay this way forever.

In the pipeline is a 355ci stroked engine combo sporting 4-bolt mains, hydraulic roller camshaft and Yella Terra -9 alloy heads. If there’s room left in the budget to swap the turbo out for a new Garrett G45-1500 turbo, it’s likely to see one of those also and aim at a power figure north of 750! This is sure to be one TUFF plastic.
Kurt did a video on his turbo kit, and shows just how simple it is for you to build one too!:

Project: Pro Street - Jeff's 1982 Holden VH SL/E

What was meant to be a quick, cheap and cheerful build has somewhat gotten out of hand. Yep, it was never meant to go this far, and certainly never meant to take this long!

Jeff quickly realised in his mid-20s that a supercharged ute wasn’t going to be practical forever, with the inevitability of having a family of his own, a 4 door car was going to be the way forward. So, to get a jump on things he acted early and bought this VH SL/E with a bone stock 308 and trimatic, a perfect weekend cruiser. The old girl was going to get some basic rust repairs, closed door respray, VN Heads, some extra compression, a 3/4 race cam, and call it good… maybe a shot of nitrous at the track.

Well. Here he is 6 years later with 2 kids in the house, and the car has barely made a start, because the plan has snowballed. BIG TIME. He now has a high compression, high revving, solid roller 383ci Holden V8 street/strip engine which has the potential for 700 stout chetlands at the crank. This is now going to be backed by a Coan transbraked TH350 transmission and a shortened Borg Warner diff. To add to the snowball, the “basic rust repair” has now become a full rotisserie, bare metal, nut and bolt restoration including smoothed engine bay and mini tubs to the chassis rail.

I’ts going to be a long wait before the car is ready for it’s maiden voyage down the road, he’s hoping to get it down the 1320ft in mid 9-second territory. Not a bad effort from an old carby fed Holden donk.
